Black Chicken Soup

Bring to the boil:
1 black chicken
5 black, smoked jujubes (hēi zǎo / black date / 黑枣)
15 wolfberries
1 small slice of liquorice
6 slices of ginger
½ onion, chopped
60 ml shaoxing rice wine
1 liter simple chickenstock (or water, enough to submerge the chicken)
1 t salt
I cooked it in my crockpot, I’m not sure how long. I think it was 3 hours on high and 5 on low.
Then took the meat off the bone, serve
